Action required! Major update to Corporate Phonebook

We have changed the way Corporate Phonebook is communicating with Microsoft Azure. For the app to continue working you must:

As an Azure administrator:

  1. Log in to portal.azure.com
  2. Choose "Enterprise applications"
  3. Select "Corporate Phonebook"
  4. Choose 'Security', 'Permissions'
  5. Grant admin consent
  6. Log in to approve the requested permissions

While you are here, you may want to set Windows Azure Active Directory / Directory.AccessAsUser.All on behalf of all users. This will save your user’s time, as they will not have to approve the access themselves.

As a user:

  1. Make sure you have at least version of Corporate Phonebook installed
  2. Open the app
  3. When prompted for "Re-login required", choose "Yes, continue"
  4. Accept the login screen by pressing "Done" in the upper left corner
  5. Log in using your Azure AD credentials

Why is this necessary?

Microsoft is retiring support for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Graph. For the app to continue working, we have switched to a different API (Microsoft Graph). End of support for Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) Graph will be on June 30, 2022.

The API has been available for a long time, but we have avoided it, as it requires administrative approval to use. The new API offers slightly better performance and faster synchronization of contact data.

The synchronization continues to happen directly between the app and Azure. There is no proxy, gateway or middleware involved.
